Advertising Sales / Publication Managers

Entry level advertising sales positions with a well-established Pittsburgh-based publishing company in the Greentree area. Base salary + commission offered; full-time and part-time; flexible hours; benefit option; casual business environment.

We are looking for people-oriented individuals whose primary function would be advertising sales in one or more of the company's expansion or established publications to new clients and renewing advertisers. In addition to advertising sales, lead research, and marketing, you will coordinate print and web content, influence cover design and layout, and manage distribution.

Spindle Publishing Company, Inc. produces resource publications for "in-transition" audiences — from preparing students and developing professionals to expecting parents and aging seniors. Descriptions of publications are available at www.spindlepub.com. Plans to continue growth patterns of the past several years include expansion from 35 titles in 2006 to 50 titles in 2007.

Print & Web Production Internship

The production staff at an established South Hills-based publishing company is looking for someone to fill a print and web production internship.

Duties include various activities involved with:

• print magazine layout,
• advertisement coordination and design, and
• web design, development, and maintenance (optional).

Prospective candidates should have an eye for design, ability to work in a team environment, and have good time management skills. Knowledge of web development a plus.

Candidates should be familiar with the following programs:

• PhotoShop
• In Design
• Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash (optional)

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION - Business, marketing or communications majors with marketing and advertising emphasis. We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, articulate individuals who wish to pursue a career in sales and marketing. Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing software desirable. Pittsburgh area college students are preferred as interns must be available to work for more than one term. Applicants looking strictly for a summer internship will not be considered.
